Hi Debbie, You will have to enable the fax console for Windows.
after that, the process is fairly accessible. You may need the windows CD if it isn't enabled yet. Otherwise, you can use a program like WinFax or Winfax Pro. the program is 97% accessible, and you can send a document, or at least, most documents, like word documents, text files or any other document the program supports as an attachment, and Winfax will send it off like a normal fax. I also believe that the fax console with Windows XP does the same thing, but I think the documents you can send are limited to Microsoft products only, but don't quote me on that. In any case, which ever you decide to go with, they are both accessible with Jaws. They also let you create cover pages of different styles and the dialog boxes to address the fax to the sender and telephone numbers are all accessible. The other nifty thing is that if you plug in the telephone line to the computer, when your telephone rings, you'll hear it through your computer speakers, and Windows pops up a balloon, which you can access through your system tray, that will let you answer the fax and receive it on your computer. You'll have to be quick on the uptake with that process, otherwise you'll lose the call to your voicemail, so it might behoove you to create a hotkey for this process of answering fax calls on your computer. The other way you can negate this problem is if you get the person sending you a fax to call you ahead of time, that way you can have the fax console open and ready to receive a fax on the fly. Both programs give you the option of saving the fax as a JPEG format or TIFF format. I would recommend you save it in TIFF format for reasons I will explain later in a post to Donny, so watch out for it.
