Try this..
1 open my computer
2 go to hard drive or c drive don't enter there
3 press application key
4 arrow down to properties press enter
5 ctrl tab to tools
6 it will bring up a box saying error checking tab to check now
7 it will bring up another box saying check local disk then you have to check 
the two check boxes
8 tab to start box press enter
9 tab to ok press enter.
10 on the next time you start your computer it will run the scan disk
11 depending on the number of programs on your computer it may take an hour or 
more to run.
