Yes, it does capture the screen as a image.   

What does "Virtualize" the window mean?

Doesn't the "Print Screen" key or the combination Control+Print Screen copy
the screen to the clipboard? then you can paste the image into a MS-Word
document.

control+insert+W will virtualize the active window. Then do a select all
and copy it to your clip board. That's the best we as blind people can do.
