Starting with JAWS 6.0, this is a piece of cake, but it's more difficult
with earlier JAWS versions, although it can be done. I'll give you the
step-by-step instructions:
1. After one of you is logged in and has the settings he/she wants, use
Windows Explorer to go to C:\JAWS 5.0\Settings\ENU and copy the complete ENU
folder to something like C:\JAWS 5.0\Settings\Carla\ENU. Then, do the same
thing for your husband (if his name was Fred, the folder would contain his
settings and would be C:\JAWS 5.0\Fred\ENU). Note that _both_ users will
have to do this with _their_ personal settings set up.
2. Using Notepad, create two simple batch files. Name one Carla and the
other Fred.
A. Carla.bat should contain two lines as follows:
@Echo off
Copy /Y C:\JAWS 5.0\Carla\*.* C:\JAWS 5.0\Settings\*.*
B. Fred.bat should contain two lines as follows:
@Echo off
Copy /y C:\JAWS 5.0\Fred\*.* C:\JAWS 5.0\Settings\*.*
3. Now, when either one of you logs on, open Windows Explorer, locate the
folder where the batch files are located, and press ENTER on the one for the
appropriate user. This will copy all of that user's settings into the
correct location, overwriting those already there. When the other user
executes the batch file with their name, their settings will do the same
thing and it will no longer be necessary to go through the hassle of setting
up two separate user configurations every time one or the other of you logs
on.

Subject: [jaws-users] question about jaws & multiple users on a computer
Hi everyone,
I'm carla, and I recently joined the group. I am hoping to learn more about
Jaws, things that I don't already know, and get some answers to some
questions I have about Jaws.
I'm wondering something. Is their a way to configure jaws to work on a
computer that more than one person is using? For example, my husband and I
use the same computer. I always have to change jaws settings when he logs
onto the computer under his user account, or change my settings back when I
log back in to my computer under my windows user account. Is their a way to
configure jaws to save it's settings for each user on the computer? If so,
what version is this possible in. I am running Jaws 5.0. Hope this makes
sense, and I appreciate the help in advance.
