Hi everyone,
following from previous messages regarding possible problems with IE7, I went
into control panel to make sure I had "download updates, but let me choose when
to install them" checked. I never knew you could change it in control panel.
Funnily, mine was set to automatically download. I wondered why I had never
been notified about new updates for ages. I used to get a message now and
again, saying "new updates are available, do you want to install them now". I
always had to get someone to do that for me, as the message seemed to be in a
bubble and not accessible by Jaws. I don't know how that setting got changed.
My question is, will I now get a message informing me that new updates are
available to be installed? There was talk about them appearing in the system
tray. Do I need to make a habit of checking there, or will I be notified?
Thanks a lot
Jason
P.S I am running XP and now Jaws 7.1. I just downloaded it. I was holding back,
as heard some of you had problems with it. I obviously have kept 7.0 as a
back-up. Some things with 7.1 are sharper and better. However, other things are
more sluggish and worse e.g not reading top and bottom when at end of a list.
Will be good when 8.0 comes out, as 7.1 was apparently like a beta test for 8.0
in order to iron out any possible bugs.
