Anthony I don't use either of these on my Windows machine. So I can't be of much help.
RSS is a way of providing headline type information to a RSS grabber package (FireFox and Internet Explorer V7 both have RSS readers build-in). What happens with RSS is that the headlines are provided along with some basic search keywords in a separate web site. If you have a RSS reader including IE7 then this information is formatted on your machine and there are links you can use to get the rest of the material. A podcast is just a RSS feed where the material happens to be audio. Fore example the New York Times provides a podcast of most of its Op-Eds if you click on one of those links in IE6 you will get a set of links and rather sparse descriptions. One of those links will have a file extension of '.mp3'. If you click on that link then you should be able to listne to the article (without using Speech synthesizer). Besides the newer web browsers having built in RSS support you can also get specialized RSS software (Try looking at the Desert Skis I believe there is some information there). The specialized software can often do things like search thousands of RSS feeds and only provide back keywords that you are interested in. Hopefully this will help. That was very simple and and certainly understandable. Now, if you would give me a crash course on rss and podcasts and how to take advantage of them, I would appreciate it. Finally, I can't get past reading the article about how to be a dj on ACB radio. Am I pushing the envelope, I guess I am and, hopefully, I can be of some assistance to you and others. Thank you in advance.
