Hi Marilyn,

If you go to the view menu, you'll see columns...

Hit enter on that, and you'll land in a dialog box with the list of headers
to display.

Once in that dialog box, arrow through it until you land on subject, and see
where it is in the order.

If you are going through the list using your up and down arrow keys, using
the up arrow corresponds to moving left on the header line, and using the
down arrow, corresponds to going right on the header line.

So, for example, if you arrow down from the first header in that list, you
see priority, flag, attachment, from, subject, date, etc.

That would mean that priority is the farthest column to the left of the
e-mail list in Outlook Express, which I hope this is the one you are using,
otherwise I just wasted my time, unless someone else can use this message.

Moving to the right of priority is flag, and to the right of that, is
attachment, followed by from and subject, respectively.

This doesn't mean a thing, except that it is the order in which Jaws reads
the headers of a message. Having said that, you can elect to either move
the columns to the left, or the right, depending on which order you want it
in.

For example, if you want the date to show before the subject line, you move
it up, so you would press the move up button.

On the other hand, if you want the flag to show before the attachment
column, you would press the move down button.

Having explained that, you should check that subject column is between the
from and date fields.

Once you've checked that, and moved the subject to where it should be, you
have to check it's size. To do that, you tab about four times from the
list, or something like five times, and you'll land on the number of pixels
wide.

I have mine set at 412 pixels, so you may want to do it similar to mine.
You may also elect to make it smaller or larger, depending on how much
information you want to display from other columns.

Anyway, once you're done checking this stuff, just tab to the OK button, and
hopefully, that should have done the trick.
