Ok, all who are trying to help. Here's what I get. Top of window, bottom of window and a numbered list of messages as in 12 of 22. I have been through the view menu to columns but nothing I do checks anything. There are no check boxes, just 11 things I can have the headers say if I enter on a message. But I still am not getting a recipient's name "from" in the original list.
