Access the Task Manager is Ctrl+Alt+Delete -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of ken hanshe Sent: Friday, November 10, 2006 7:23 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [jaws-users] Periodic announcement.Ken-Walt/uninstalling google desktop.
Bob and Walt. Yes, this started a couple weeks ago. I don't know if this is related in any way, but when I've been doing google searches and try to go into one of the results, I've been getting redirected to advertising sites into which my search inquiry is put if there's a search box in the site. I did a complete system restore a few hours ago: the google thing seems to have cleared up but the announcement thing hasn't. The couple things I've downloaded I could easily rule out as causing this. Checking my task manager to see if any service or something is running in the background sounds like a good idea: how do I open task manager and what are the steps from there? One other thought: google desktop has changed its design just recently. I wonder if perhaps that's causing it. When I've tried to uninstall it from the control panel, I get a message that my computer need to be rebooted for installation changes to take effect. Any other ways of trying to uninstall google desktop? Thank you for your help in advance. ~Ken~ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Batchelor" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, November 10, 2006 4:38 AM Subject: RE: [jaws-users] Periodic announcement.Ken-Walt > Ken and Walt, > With the checking every half hour it sounds to me that this is some > service > that is running in the back ground.
