Walt,
I hate to burst your bubble but there are some of us that think AVG
works very well and haven't had any virus while using it. Some of us even
switched from Symantec, which is the makers of that bulky program called
Norton's, after getting infected while using it. It's just a matter of
opinion.

A lot of people have more than one anti virus and run them separately
knowing full well not any one program catches them all.

Microsoft has a free antri virus and anti spware program out right now. I
believe it's called "Windows Live OneCare" the link is:
http://safety.live.com/site/en-US/default.htm

So according to your post you can't trust this company either so you better
shut down your computer and never cut it back on till they start charging
for it, right? (Tongue in cheek)

Moreover, I simply won't trust a company that gives their product away. If
they don't have a financial incentive to keep the product up-to-the-minute
(an absolute must for a virus checking application), I won't use it. Also,
there's the whole issue of why few, if any, major corporations use AVG, even

the version that must be purchased--these people aren't fools and I trust
their judgment. If people don't care enough to pay for a truly first-class
antivirus program, they shouldn't be using a computer and if that sounds
harsh, I don't mean it to be, but protecting your computer and its contents
should be the most basic concern of any computer user and the cost of a good

antivirus program is just an annual cost of owning the computer.

True, but I've had to help a number of people out after they got a virus
using AVG, so I won't try it. I use norton.
