DOM's namespace model is atrocious. It uses both Attr objects for 
xmlns and xmlns:prefix objects and specifies the namespace on 
individual elements. They can even conflict with each other. And 
documents created in memory often don't have the Attr objects they're 
supposed to. It's the the worst of both worlds.
