You should make sure that you have run Windows update before hand, but this should just be available at the CMD shell unless your PATH is screwed up badly somehow. I presume that the jBASE telnet service starts correctly and so on? You don't tell us what version of Windows you are using (at least if you did it has been lost from the thread), but I would definitely check that you have configured Windows firewall and that you don't have the Windows telnet server installed. IIRC 10038 just means that the socket was not open/valid - I am not really sure that the netsh reset will do anything anyway. Jim
