Hello Everyone,

I am currently at a client place and it is a Model Bank Installation
currently in progress.

ORACLE is the DataBase

As you all should know jBASE data is stored as a FILE Structure, where as in
ORACLE it is stored in the form of Tables.

Usually when a DB Server is Installed, it comes along with the DRIVERS and
also during the Installation the DataBase ACCESS is restricted to a set of
Users / Applications.

In our scenario, the XMLORACLE Driver will take care of updating the ORACLE
Tables.

Say suppose in a single Server we have multiple instances of ORACLE.

Namely,

ORACLE Instance 1 and ORACLE Instance 2

ORACLE Instance 1 is Exclusively for T24. ORACLE Instance 2 is for an
External SYSTEM.

Now,

Say suppose i create a Local Template in T24. The Records for this Template
will be stored in ORACLE Instance 1 (The ORACLE Instance that is pointed by
the Environmental Variables)

If i am not wrong the Environmental Variable ORACLE_SID will point to the
Instance of ORACLE on which to Update the data. (Please correct me if i am
wrong on this)

Is it possible to store the data in the ORACLE Instance 2 as well from the
same Session. (Programatically speaking from the same CLASSIC MODE Session)

In simple terms, here is the question.

T24 having access to Multiplpe Instances of ORACLE with all normal
operations of Storage and Retrieval feasible.

IDEA that we came across (MAY BE WRONG)

Dynamically changing the ORACLE_SID Environmental variable to point to
ORACLE Instance 2.

Please Advice.

Best Regards
