We are running jBase version 3.4.2.2 on Win2000 Server and recently installed MVNET and DesignBais on our production server. After running IDL to set up an account, we discovered that all of our various telnet account logons were deafulting to DesignBais for the JBCLOGNAME. Before the installation, all user accounts reported the JBCLOGNAME as "not set". The console window sessions are immune to these changes. Our short term fix has been to set the JBCLOGNAME explicitly in the remote.cmd file for each account. These cahnges have also made it impossible to run an account using a different account's MD. The logon proc that runs is named for the host MD %HOME %, not for the account of the logon. We have pored over the jdiag output and the last four lines of the Current User Registry starting with "JBCLOGNAME" are new as of this event and appear to be relevant:
jBase Current User Registry =========================== JBCRELEASEDIR=C:\JBASE30 JBCGLOBALDIR=C:\JBASE30 JBC_PATCHLEVEL=0105 JBC_VERSION=3.4.2.2 JBC_PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE=ix86 JBC_CCOMPILER_PATH=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98 JBC_SHAREDIDE_PATH=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common \MSDEV98\bin JBCLOGNAME=DesignBais JEDIFILENAME_MD=C:\HYTEK\MVNET\MD JEDIFILENAME_SYSTEM=C:\HYTEK\SYSTEM JEDIFILEPATH=. These defaults are persisting through reboots and we haven't been able to find any locations where these defaults are stored on the server other than in the USER folders where they do belong. Our proof of concept installation on our development server had no such problems at all. We've pushed it upstairs to both user support groups but nobody has been able to put their finger on the cause. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Please read the posting guidelines at: http://groups.google.com/group/jBASE/web/Posting%20Guidelines IMPORTANT: Type T24: at the start of the subject line for questions specific to Globus/T24 To post, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe, send email to [email protected] For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/jBASE?hl=en -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
