You need to log on as Administrator, not just as a member of the group. "The problem is with the way jBASE creates shared memory. As you've discovered, it works as Administrator, but not if you are just a member of the Administrators group. It also works if jDLS is running, or if you already have an active telnet session; under these conditions the shared memory is already created, so starting up additional jShells on the console is not a problem. This problem is currently with development and they are aware that it needs to be fixed."

I don't think they even support VS2008 yet, so you will have to wait a while ;-) The security interfaces with Vista and even more so with Windows 7 have changed and I doubt that you could easily get this to work. However, the first thing to do is turn off UAC, which might be your issue. If that does not work then I think you probably are not going to get this to work. Also, please read the posting guidelines - what version of jBASE? What compilers have you loaded? Etc. ad nauseum Jim > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf > Of Scuba966 > Sent: Monday, May 17, 2010 7:01 AM > To: jBASE > Subject: Error 2 Starting command > > Hi > I just installed jBase on a Win7 (32-bit) laptop and when login in to > the shell, I get the Error 2 starting command error (when forcing to > launch jsh from a DOS box with jsh - -c I get the error Error 2 while > creating a user object > MutexLock: Error: Result 128, Error 0 > I set the userprofile as Admin and just for good measure gave full > rights to the jBase folder and sub-directories. > Can please someone help ? > > Regards > > Pat > > -- > Please read the posting guidelines at: > http://groups.google.com/group/jBASE/web/Posting%20Guidelines > > IMPORTANT: Type T24: at the start of the subject line for questions > specific to Globus/T24 > > To post, send email to [email protected] > To unsubscribe, send email to [email protected] > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/jBASE?hl=en -- Please read the posting guidelines at: http://groups.google.com/group/jBASE/web/Posting%20Guidelines IMPORTANT: Type T24: at the start of the subject line for questions specific to Globus/T24 To post, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe, send email to [email protected] For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/jBASE?hl=en -- Please read the posting guidelines at: http://groups.google.com/group/jBASE/web/Posting%20Guidelines IMPORTANT: Type T24: at the start of the subject line for questions specific to Globus/T24 To post, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe, send email to [email protected] For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/jBASE?hl=en
