Just curious if there are any other Ubuntu fans out there? I just re-built my laptop with a new SSD HD (could only afford a 30GB Vertex, and I had to make sure that Mr. Idle could still buy the faster 60 or 120GB version), so Windows had to go (since this is my personal laptop, Linux is a priority. I used to use Debian, but I go with the flow and now Ubuntu seems to be it).
jBASE 4.1.6.13 seems to work just fine, despite the lack of support (and just where the @#...@^ is the fat support bloke when you need him?). If you'd like to try it for yourself, try: First off, http://imaginaryrobots.wordpress.com/2010/04/05/libstdc5-in-ubuntu-lucid/ really helped me. If you get past the first problem, "apt-get install libncurses5-dev" will solve the CATALOG error. Well, at any rate it worked for me.
