Before doing anything else, make an OS
level copy of the corrupted file so you can try to figure out what
went wrong. You can then copy DEVCONFIG*n and DEVFORMQUEUE*xxx
entries (at the Jbase level) from your backup copy back to
jspool_log and restart those printers. Keep in mind that print
jobs stored in a print queue in the backup copy may not match what
exists when you restore the definitions. I run a resync
program to get the jobs back in line. I've rewritten and front-ended most of the spooler functions, so I have a lot more power available than a standard Jbase system. I am running version 3.4.7 on XP, but most things apply to Windows and *nix with at most minor tweaks. I'd be happy to share, but it will be after the first of the year before I will get time.
