Kevin,
The jBASE compiler is not reliant on the latest and greatest Visual Studio
release. If you read the jBASE release notes, the Visual Studio version which
has been used to build the Windows binaries is always stated.

Visual Studio 2003 was used to build jBASE 4.6.1.16, the latest jBASE 4 version.

Visual Studio 2005 SP1 was used to build jBASE 5.2.15, the latest jBASE 5
version.

It is normally possible to use a later version of the Windows SDK to build
BASIC code, i.e. Windows 2008 or the Windows SDK for Windows 7 and .NET
Framework 3.5 SP1 for jBASE5. You should be aware that the jBASE compiler
expects certain C++ features to be in place, which may not be the case with the
latest and greatest.

The jBASE web site provides recommendations for which Windows SDK to use and
anybody that is still not sure can always contact jBASE Support for advice.

Subject: Future compiler options for jBASE on Windows

It seems that Microsoft is removing the compiler from the Windows SDK. I had
heard rumours about this, but the link below provides some support for this
development. How will this affect users of jBASE for Windows?

"The Windows SDK now requires a compiler and build environment to be installed
separately. If you require a complete development environment, including
compilers and a build environment, Microsoft Visual Studio 11
