Hi, Would there be any sense (performance wise) in creating the distribution algorithm in such a way that it will be evenly distributing records among part-files? The files in-question contain daily accounting entries, which are rarely changed once created. Those live files should not be archived for the present and previous year. The corresponding archive files are distributed, with part-files per year.
I wonder if we can achieve better performance with even distribution for the live file? We use SAN with our database filesystem residing on 15 disks.
