Hi Bob,
Thanks for the tip. I am looking at some macro programs, and I
may use them in some other capacity. Tony and Kevin have
suggested I use BigCommerce's API for what I need here, and I
think I'll go in that direction.
Merry Christmas!

Charlie,
There are some downloadable "macro" programs out there. These are meant to
automate operations in other programs. They can copy, paste, scrape the
screen, push keystrokes, etc. One of these may be able to automate the
task you have in mind. Take a look around.

First, let me apologize for the thread problem - mea culpa. Bob was correct, I have done exactly what he said. I looked at the full headers and
message source on my end and didn't see anything amiss. Apparently Google sees more. I wasn't aware of that. I'll make sure not to do it that
way anymore. Should I move this to a completely new thread, or leave it as is, since the damage has already been done?
Now, for the real issue. Assume for the moment that it needs to be done the way I described. The order entry is part of an ecommerce site
hosted by BigCommerce, so I don't have any knowledge of or control over their backend. They are not great on sharing, and are really paranoid
about PCI compliance. If I have all the data displayed, whether in Notepad or by a Jbase program, I can copy and paste to the order a field at
a time by copying a field, pasting into the order and pressing <Tab>, then repeating for the next field. What I was looking for was a way to
combine all that into one operation. I can just as easily enter the data into a Jbase program, which could then do whatever I want with it to
get the data into the order form, if I knew what it should do.
Most of you know that I am disabled, and only have my left hand to work with (I used to be right handed, and my left hand still doesn't work as
well as the right one did before). Consequently, I try to eliminate extra keystrokes and mouse clicks wherever I can. I know it sounds like I
am creating more work for myself, but there are instances where I need to capture the order info, then enter the order for the customer later.
Thanks to all who have responded.

It's not always convenient or practical for the person taking the phone order to be in the store checkout when taking
the order.
ISTM that it should be no less convenient, and certainly far more practical, than getting the format correct in a text document then
doing a cut and paste to the live form. Nevertheless, it seems that it is not an acceptable solution.
What's the problem with writing the jBC front end to order entry that you mentioned? How long could that take? It seems like the quick,
temporary fix you're looking for isn't really worth the effort.
What thread on ICONV? The subject is "Paste Data Into A Web Form".
In the jBASE Google group, all your recent threads are tied to your original ICONV posting. Bob C. has noted the likely cause of the
problem in his reply.
