IIRC, you need to:

1) locate and remove anything in the PATH that looks like it is using the
mingw compiler and
2) remove the CC environment variable

You may need to add the .NET environment variables back in. Run a jdiag to
see if you need to do this.

After you make all these changes I would reboot for good measure and then
run another jdiag to make sure you have everything set up correctly.

I think the mingw compiler is installed in a directory underneath
JBCRELEASEDIR. You can remove this entire directory to reclaim the space
but it wont hurt to leave it there as long as nothing in your environment
is referencing it.
