Hi again: I have solved this problem, at least when I logon using my terminal emulator (I use Netterm). One has to tweek the security settings of Windows 7 to allow blank passwords.
go here for instructions : http://www.pctips3000.com/how-to-enable-windows-7-computer-to-accept-blank-passwords-while-accessing-through-the-network/ and then use the normal channels to remove your password from your user account. It does not seem to read the new accounts remote.cmd folder so you may get logged on but you would be pointing to the wrong MD. Also, as far as I know the account must have a password for it to work. If I use jshell, I can get into my bin folder and run menus etc. jdiag shows me that it "seems" to be installed correctly. I have several accounts on the system as c:\usr\client1 c:\user\client2 etc. Each client has its own md, data files etc. However if I try to LOGTO another client, it asks me for a password. These accounts are not password protected, so how can I fix this. Dave Grenfell -- -- IMPORTANT: T24/Globus posts are no longer accepted on this forum.
