Dave,

jBASE 4 and jBASE 5 are extremely compatible. The only thing needed to go from
one to the other is pretty much BASIC/CATALOG of the program files.

With that in mind, the only reason to not go with jBASE 5 is if you do not have
an option for 64 bit software. I could possibly see a developer using jBASE 4
on an older laptop, but other than that there is no reason to use jBASE 4 over
jBASE 5.

jBASE 5 eliminated the need for the java based license scripts and licensing is
now incorporated directly in the libraries with no need for an external
process. jBASE 5 is also constantly updated and enhanced where jBASE 4 is no
longer enhanced and only major bug fixes will be considered to be fixed.

Subject: evaluating

Hi guys:

Can some-one give me the short comparison of vers. 4 and vers5. I would like
to evaluate to possibly upgrade to a 64 bit version from my current vers 3.4.10

Thanks

Dave
