So if I have a client that is on 3.x and wants to get a new system and for some reason does not want to upgrade to 5.x he does not need to. Correct?

Granted anyone new and anyone who wants to take advantage of the new 5.x features should go to 5,x anyway.

Richard,

jBASE 3.4.10 is still technology from 2005 and no new development has taken place since then.

The new build is meant for customers who have a valid reason to stick with jBASE 3.4.x at the present time and gives them access to newer, supported Windows operating systems.

jBASE 5 is the way forward, is actively being developed and enhanced.

So bottomline, I can have a Win 7 64b system, run Jbase 3.4.10 and it will work. Why go to 5,x then?

    Richard,

The new build of jBASE 3.4.10 is still 32 bit, but it is 64bit
aware, so will install correctly on a 64 bit system, which was not
the case with the original version.

    Mike,

So you are saying I did not have to go to 5.x? I was told if I
wanted 64 bit I had no choice.

Jbase 3.x is a 32 bit system and will not install on Win 7
        64b. You can put a 32b version of windows 7 on a 64b platform
        though.

            Good morning all:

Just curious. I attempted an install on windows 7, 64 bit
and was rejected. Does this mean that 3.4.10 will not
install on windows 10 either, or is there a setting that
could fool it into thinking that it is being installed on
            a 32 bit system ?
