I am one of several software engineers who maintain and enhance our current d3 system. We have over 250 users (AccuTerm) and 1000+ web users - mostly flash connect and .NET. We're currently running on a 12 year old AIX box but we also have 13 other VM's connected via OSFI and NFS to offload the main AIX box. We also have many thousands of programs from 20+ years of development.
I would really appreciate some stories from people who've been in this swamp full of alligators. What was your migration strategy? How did you maintain your development efforts AND a conversion effort? How long did it take start to finish? How much 'outside consulting' did you need? All advice and stories gratefully accepted.
