Over the years, IB has got much better with their midnight server reset. From my experience, TWS and JBT can run through that critical reset period most of the time. Once in while, it still fails: when the market data is lost during the server reset, it doesn't get restored. So, if I were trading live, I'd check both TWS and JBT in the morning before trading starts.
