Hi all, Eugene is working on adding more precise date/time information to the above-mentioned reports to take advantage of the new NTP-based improvements to the clock within JBT. This should help everyone when it comes to troubleshooting issues or even communicating events with one another. It should also be less confusing, as today there are at least 3 clocks for people to think about when looking at the logs (IB time, local system time, and JBT time).
I will work on the resulting file-structure of these logs to ensure that they adhere to strict XHTML and create a simple, but pleasant, external style sheet so that they format well for the browser, but yet keep all the styling out of the main files. This will immediately have the positive side effect of keeping the size of the files down, improving their human and machine readability and should improve the ability of importing these files into other programs such as Excel. In addition, direct conversion of these reports into other formats would be possible through the application of an XSLT transform (more info here: http://www.w3.org/TR/xslt). I won't be providing any such XSLTs or any means of applying them immediately, but the possibility will exist much more than it does today and set us in the right direction regarding event logs. Finally, if someone desires a different look to their reports, it should be very possible to 'skin' them with custom CSS style sheets. Again, I probably won't provide any additional skins (just the one simple one), but I will try to make my CSS code clean and comments so others can adapt to their tastes. This will probably be for the next release, whenever that is, however, I'd like to solicit input from everyone as I believe some of you may be using these reports in your work-flow. Does anyone have any specific requirements for these reports today that the above-mentioned changes won't actually benefit? Also, this is a "heads-up" that the report format will probably change in the next release! :-) Best, - Martin --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "JBookTrader" group.
