JBT had been a team effort, but yes, I've built majority of components. > First off, let me say that I am running a demo version of TWS and I am > aware that Nonlinear says JBT won't work with TWS demo (however I > don't understand why). There are three types of accounts with IB: 1. demo account 2. paper trading (otherwise known as simulated) account 3. real account You can get a demo account without actually depositing any money with IB. However, that account is worthless with JBT. The market data is fake, and market depth is not broadcasted. When you have made a deposit with IB, you get both simulated and real account. Both of these can be used with JBT. Once I get a normal account will a TWS simulation give me > enough depth of information to develop a working strategy? > > Yes. I'd note that if you are looking to develop and test your trading strategies, you don't need IB connectivity at all. JBT will work in the "backtesting" and "optimization" modes using historical data. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "JBookTrader" group.
