Please check if online forum posts about AWS micro instance Java process shutdowns in case of low memory conditions apply to you.
I did run IB Gateway + JBT on a micro instance and did experience the IB Gateway or JBT being shutdown by Ubuntu due to low memory. I went back to AWS medium instance and had no problems for months. Just a heads-up in case somebody runs into the same problem. Please report if you manage to run JBT on a micro instance without problems for a few weeks.
