(Disclaimer: I've no experience of socket-level traffic analysis myself.
I've worked with people who have.)

NT's own tool is called NETMON. I think you only get it with NT Server,
but I'm not sure.

You might also look at http://www.sstinc.com/

My workmates and I find their TracePlus WebDetective product very useful
for tracing HTTP traffic. They also do a tool called TracePlus/Winsock,
which might fit the bill. Here's a quote from their Web site:

"TracePlus/Winsock was used to test Windows 95, Netscape Navigator,
America Online, Compuserve WinCIM, the Novell Winsock TCP/IP stack, and
many other commercial Internet applications, by the software companies
that produced those respective products. In short, some pretty popular
