actually my starting point was that cache usage was broken, and in case a
client missed hash and equals the usage of entity was all screwed up (it was
NEVER seen in cache and ALL operations were equivalent to a Activate(), in
short, beans were never in the ready state in the previous cache)
so the primary usage of this is that we have no cache misses anymore... and
we can have beans in ready state, part of what the EJB spec is about.

as a (very nice) side effect it is fast
I should have called it "robustKey" :-)
