Is it possible to turn off JavaMail debug messages like
  DEBUG: not loading system providers in <java.home>/lib
?

For me it's okay to restrict password to alphanumeric.
Other possibility: use UTF-8 and store anything you like.
But in this case some GUI for editing of the configuration file is
desirable.
