sorry, no its not what you want. Maybe this is a bad choice of directory
neames, I can change it if you want. In order to test my
ConnectionFactoryLoader fix (being able to start one after the rar it uses
is deployed) I wrote my test case to create and manipulate some mbeans
through the RMIConnector, and then deploy an ejb to make sure the
datasource got deployed and worked.
I'd like to write some more tests that check things like whether the
service lifecycle works for most of the standard jboss mbeans (sometimes
stop/(re)start doesn't work) and thought a set of "jmx manipulation" tests
might be ok.
Since I have your attention, I'd like your opinion about my other recent
patch (443701) and whether I should apply it or if it will interfere with
the web-install stuff you are working on. Basically it makes the
ConfigurationService into a deployer so you can deploy and undeploy
subsidiary jcml files, each under the control of a ServiceControl mbean.
If you think it is OK, I would also like to modify J2ee deployer so you can
include a jcml file in an ear and get your application-specific mbeans
deployed automatically. I think this can also provide a mechanism for
persisting jbossmq topics and queues created at runtime. (Have a
ServiceControl mbean dedicated to managing the topic/queues, and save its
configuration in a well known location). A possible further step that I
haven't investigated for feasability yet is to make it possible to include
urls for the mbean source in the jcml file.
And one other thing...in may, patch 422932 was submitted, making the
j2eedeployer deploy rars included in an ear. This doesn't seem to be in
the current code base. Is there a reason not to apply this patch? If we
also apply my configuration service patch, an ear can include everything it
needs to set up and use a jca connector, right in the ear, even if the
connector is previously unknown to the system.
