Sorry for posting this here, but with Slashdot raving about JBoss, once again my concers about documentation emerge.
What will the slashdot masses say if they are confronted with the following message: " A free volunteer maintained manual was developed in the early stages of JBoss. A more complete and updated version is the for-pay documentation. This version is now somewhat out of date as it is not being as actively maintained ..." Dont forget: those folks are pampered bitches and if they dont understand, they WILL leave. I dont want them to leave, because I love JBoss and I want to see it prosper in the future. Being a fact (you can assure yourself by reading the slashdot comments) that most of the people even dont know what J2EE is, it would be a pity to let all these newbies go. Ladies and gentlemen, I think this is a big chance for JBOSS -> if we can make them stay for a while some will eventually start reading. Some of those will eventually start learning what JBOSS means and eventually they will start using it. What they will learn is not J2EE primarily, but it would be JBoss! In a perfect world one year from now JBoss could be used synonymous for J2EE ... But with a statement like that above, ... I dont know! Dont get me wrong, as I said before I love JBoss and if time permits (when I finished writing my diploma thesis) I will do my best to contribute. Maybe I will do the dirty work and start with documentation, since I believe this is of UTMOST importance to JBoss. now start bashing me ...
