It is hard to document it clearly because the reason is not clear to myself.

It is clear that it only exists on Linux (I have only RH 7.2 and Win2k so
cannot speak of other OSes). After moving to Windows there're already three
days of work without any problems.
It is clear that after some idle time (e.g. no clients connecting) the
problem disappears, and the package is redeployed whenever the descriptor(s)
are changed or immediatedly if descriptor(s) are changed during that "bad
time". As I mentioned, during "bad time" attempt to shutdown jboss leads to
hangup with the last messages in the log as following:

[19:35:02,603,PersistenceManager] Stopping
[19:35:02,603,PersistenceManager] Stopped
[19:35:02,603,StateManager] Stopping
[19:35:02,603,StateManager] Stopped
[19:35:02,603,JBossMQService] Stopping
[19:35:02,604,JBossMQService] Stopped

If I could see some detailed log messages to determine what is it waiting
for here...

Jboss is running not under root account but under specially created
"javaapp" account. May here be a reason?

I can send you logs and the package we're working with or try jbosstest (if
i get one) and report everything you require.

Best wishes,

Bean

Alexey,

I will say like scott, I don't see this behavior (I develop on RH 7.2 this
days, windows next week).

If you really think you have a bug document it clearly so we can deal with
it,
