Two reviews on the Serverside...<a class="link"

killer</a>. In response to some of the threads, we are dedicated to "providing real
solutions for real businesses, even though we are also very hip with the "sandal
brigade." For those demanding better documentation, we are talking with our publisher
about a book proposal that would give professional-grade documentation. For those
demanding support, we already offer support on our core server. For applications
running on top of JBoss, we are in the process of drawing up a partnership agreement
to license outside consultants in this arena. InfoWorld, June 1, 2001 <a class="link"

 that beats the budget</a>. At least we got mentioned, but what's with putting us in
the same class as Enhydra. They aren't fully J2EE and their EJB container is JOnAS,
and we all know what that's worth. Infoworld's April 27 article "Application Composer
shows promise," mentions that this Webgain/VisualCafe product "...includes the free
JBoss 2.0 EJB container for use in testing EJBs. "We're glad your using us, but you
could have told us before we learned about it in the press." Pick up the print
edition of JavaPro July 2001 "JBoss Application Server." They give us a nice albeit
slightly dated review.

  +This is a fully functional, ready-to-run web application server that directly
competes
  +with BEA's WebLogic&#153; and IBM's WebSphere&#153; offerings. Licensed under GNU
LGPL,
  + and unlike any other server in the industry,
  + JBoss is fully free with no per-cpu or hidden costs. It can be embedded in
commercial
  + products and is being used in production around the world.

  +JBoss is now beyond 50,000 downloads a month, check out our stats at SourceForge.
Two reviews on the Serverside...<a class="link"
href="http://www.theserverside.com/reviews/thread.jsp?thread_id=6215";>closer to a BEA
InfoWorld, June 1, 2001 <a class="link"
href="http://iwsun4.infoworld.com/articles/tc/xml/01/06/04/010604tcopsrc.xml";>Middleware
 that beats the budget</a>.

WWW.JBOSS.ORG HARDWARE UPGRADE
  <p class="text">
  On Friday January 11, the www.jboss.org main server
  suffered a serious hardware problem, which resulted in a complete outage of
   our site. Folks over at www.wantjava.com (Firstlink) who host our primary
  machine free-of-charge in Denver have been most helpful in helping us getting
  back up. Most content is here but the forums and the survey.

  <br><br>We have turned on
   jboss-user, the old mailing list from sourceforge.net
<http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=22866>
  for those of you new users that require assistance. We are working on
  restoring the forums. Some links might be missing as we are rebuilding
   this site.

  <br><br>We deeply apologize for the inconvenience this is causing many of
  you. We have used this opportunity to evaluate our server needs and will also
   be going online with a second server, offered to us at a generous discount by
  Rackspace Managed Hosting. Thanks again to Firstlink and Rackspace.
  As the jboss.org site becomes continuously available through redundant
  machines, this should result in continuous uptime and better service to our
   user community.
  <br><br>Oh and remember, even in the trenches in Denver, we love you!
