Summary: Unable to Persist BigDecimal in 3.01

Initial Comment:
I have downloaded 3.01 and I am trying to persist a
BigDecimal in 3.0.1 using PostgreSQL 7.2.
Please see this link as the error is the same,

http://www.jboss.org/forums/thread.jsp?
forum=46&thread=17545

It looks like it is trying to persist as an object.

This is a duplicate of #573192, see

https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=376685&aid=573192&group_id=22866

for more information. It's a bug in the postgresql driver;
try updating to
a newer one. You can get them from http://jdbc.postgresql.org/

hope this helps,
  christian
