I noticed when I was running the CMP2 test suite against mysql that the
JDBC drivers prior to the latest had a time zone bug. The effect was
that a timestamp that was read back from the database would be an hour
or so different from what was stored.
This problem goes away with the latest driver from
http://www.mysql.com/Downloads/Connector-J/mysql-connector-java-
2.0.14.zip
I've noticed that the forum timestamps always seem to be an hour out
(at least for me), which looks a lot like a manifestation of this bug.
So it might be worthwhile checking into this when you get a chance.
