Hi Jason

Quartz is something similar than our Scheduler but with the focus on
Enterprise-ready timers whereas the Scheduler was only designed to
serve as JBoss utility.

But the J2EE timer service needs to be incorporated into JBoss like
MDB invocation when a message arrives.
I will create a embedded timer like Web-containers so that users can
plug-in any timer service they like. So a user can use Quartz if they like
to.
