This happen when parsning the oracle-xa-service.xml file and is as far as I can tell caused by a bug in org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.RARDeployment. The oracle-xa-service.xml file is based on the example included in the release and it works just fine in 3.0.4. XA Oracle works with JBoss 3.2. Check bug 614116 for more details.
