use winzip to unzip eclipse to ...\eclipse\.
rename ...\eclipse\eclipse to ...\eclipse\3.0m2
unzip jboss to ...\eclipse\3.0m2\.
check: org.jboss.ide.eclipse_1.1.0 is in
...\eclipse\3.0m2\features\.
run ...\eclipse\3.0m2\eclipse.exe
go to eclipse menu:
window -> show view -> other...
In dialog box, expand JBoss IDE
double click on Log File Viewer
window -> show view -> other...
double click on Server Navigator
in Server Navigator window, click on
icon with tooltip: configuration
doubleclick JBoss 3.0.x
a dialog box pops up saying 'an error has occured,
see log file for more information'
In file ...\eclipse\3.0m2\workspace\.metadata\.log:
lots of error messages.

The work is in progress.
Currently, I have managed to make JBoss-IDE run on Eclipse
3.0.0M3. The distribution is OK but the install/update
process doesn't seem to be happy.
I am close to the solution (Need some sleep).

Just wanted to add that I appear to have the same results running
from Mac OS X 10.2.6 with JBoss-IDE 1.2. I am quite interested in
having the IDE run with Eclipse 3.

It seems that there are several problems :
- JBoss-IDE defines four LaunchDelegates that are only
supporting the "debug" mode. Eclipse tries to load them with
"run" mode. I don't know what Eclipse 3.0 is trying to do.
- Some APIs have changed. It causes some part of the
Launcher Plugin to failed. It needs to be checked and tested.
Investigations are in progress. Stay tuned.
