The declaration of EJBProxyFactory contains (the relatively old) comment from marc:

I'm curious to know what this optimisation actually is and if it ever eventuated.

Unless there's a good reason for it to be otherwise, I think the return types should 
be restored to their proper types (as indeed they still are in LocalProxyFactory).
