to display your own portal you should use the URL : /portal/myportal/ if you want your portal to be the default portal, in that case your must set the value of true in your -portal.xml at the same time you must removing the defaulting from default-portal.xml.
this is not very convenient for now, because you must edit that file which is in nukes-core.war. we are going to switch either to exploded archive or put the default-portal.xml in /deploy. I have put info on the URLs to reach portal in the docs developer guide.
