Just a little more detail:

On Windows,

1) open a Command Prompt,

2) cd to the jboss bin directory (which might or might not be cd 
C:\jBoss\dist\bin)

3) java -jar ejx.jar


On Linux,

1) Start the X Window System and set your display environment variable, 
which might or might not be:
   startx
   setenv DISPLAY 0:0

2) cd to the jboss bin directory (which might or might not be cd 
/usr/local/jboss/dist/bin)

3) java -jar ejx.jar &

The "might or might not be" parts differ, depending on the installation of 
your system and whether you have X running on your Linux machine.
