Guys,

before this gets nasty.

I have reinstalled the stuff on my machine.

win98, NO-VM, and making sure I DON'T CHOOSE the default directory with
Program Files but d:/jboss2

it works.

It installs on my machine and when I click on the icon it launches and finds
run.jar

This is uber weird... what is going on, what version are you downloading,
can you try with a proper directory? give me feedback so that I know what is
going on.  The guy who created the procedure for the automated zip from CVS
is gone this week, so I am working in the dark here.

thanks, Tim et al, if you are still online, please give me detailed
information (spare me the judgement on the group, thanks) and let's work on
constructive feedback so I can make sure I understand what is different from
my install to yours and fix it ASAP.
