Howdy,
Never heard of ozone, and I have no experience using an object database with
ejbs.
It sounds like you've missed why ejb exists in the first place. Here's a
link you may want to read: http://java.sun.com/products/ejb/ as it gives a
general overview of why ejb was invented and what you should use it for. In
general if you are doing a simple 2-tier app with a gui talking to a
database (as it sounds), then ejb doesn't buy you much and would probably be
a hassle to use. Basically you want to use ejb as the middleware engine
between remote clients and distributed *enterprise* datasources, especially
when transaction on distributed datasources comes into play.
Regarding the condition of jboss and constantly updated binaries and docs,
don't hold your breath (ok, hold your breath, but not for more than two
minutes...). The state is currently something like Alpha2 and the developers
are working flat out on features and bug fixes. Although they may not mind
*your* help in attacking the suggested approach to releases :-)
Cheers,
Vaughn
