Alright I give up. :-( I officially declare that I no longer have any
idea what the code does, because it seems to have changed quite a bit
since I left active development. :-/

It should not work as you outline. Whatever it is, it's a bug.

Back to writing the book. "RMI and EJB". Should be a fun chapter to
write...
