I guess that's all I'm asking for. Even if it were listed as a PR4.1 some of
the confusion could have been averted. Not a big whine, but I think that it
will cause issues in the future if we don't somehow version the binary
distributions.

Since the codebase is being massively updates on several fronts at the
same time a build number wouldn't be that useful I'm afraid. The times
of packaging would perhaps be the best "version" number during this time
of rapid progress. I don't have any good ideas on this, but I see the
need for it.
