It seems to be a "lesser of 2 evils" kind of thing.

What is the best platform for EJB development out there?
(subjective question I realize)

Input from people please!

I've not had good experiences with Visual Cafe (version 4.0) The debugger
seemed to get unstable with big projects and deep stack frames (very bad
when you're debugging in an EJB container)

Visual Age - well, that one I have some philisophical differences with (at
least as of 3.0x) needing to use its closed repository is unpleasant. One
thing to look at with VA Java and EJB is that (again, as of 3.0x) it's
pretty closely tied to websphere's way of doing things, which isn't EJB
1.1 yet. I've taken beans developed in VAJava for websphere and ported
them to a couple other app servers, and there were some code changes
(method signatures changed a wee, they threw RemoteException)
Having said that, I can personnally say that the EJB tools in VAJava _do_
let you knock out CMP beans quickly, provided that you have complete
control over the schema.

All,

Using JBoss as the App server Target, has anyone had any bad experiences
with Visual Caf or Visual Age for EJB development? ( i.e. ability to
remotely debug and ...etc.)

I am using the new WebGain version of Visual Cafe ... disappointed so far.

Remarks/Comments are welcome please!

Mike
