We aren't using PostgreSQL, we're using mySQL but we experienced a similar
problem. The need to find workaround drove us to hacking it with
integers. Our get/set methods take in/return booleans then assign to a
numeric field 0 or 1. This was a viable workaround which doesn't affect
the interface and will work until our test engineers have time to find a
real solution.
